Join us for an exclusive guided tour of the live archaeology dig happening right now on the Castle Estate!
Tour Time: 1pm
Meeting Point: The Shop
Duration: Approximately 2 hours
What to expect:
Meet local stonemason Chris Lee, who will walk you to the dig site, stopping at our beautiful Dew Pond, currently under restoration.
At the dig site, you'll be guided by archaeologist Andy Seaman himself – as seen on TV – for a fascinating insight into this active excavation.
After the tour, you'll be escorted safely back to the shop.
Please note:
This is a live dig site – you may see human remains.
Tour tickets are for the dig site experience only. If you’d like to explore the rest of the park, you’ll need to purchase a general daytime admission ticket as well.
The walk to the dig site takes approximately 20–30 minutes through fields. Surfaces can be uneven, so please wear appropriate footwear.
Unfortunately, this tour is not wheelchair accessible.
Dogs are NOT allowed on this tour.
